Senior Software Architect, Rich Internet Applications (RIA)
Skinit, Inc., is the leader in consumer personalization for electronic devices. Skinit has one of the largest, most advanced on-demand manufacturing and fulfillment product lines available for direct to consumer photo upload and personalization. Skinit also operates a direct-to-consumer eCommerce website. Skinit’s skins are personalized, high-quality vinyl covers specially designed to fit a broad variety of consumer electronic devices
Job Duties Include:
Participate in the development of RIA team
Lead a team of RIA developers
Develop and enforce coding standards, development and deployment processes for rich internet applications.
Lead enterprise application development strategy discussions as directed by senior management.
Create and maintain enterprise RIA roadmap
Serve as lead developer/chief architect on all flash/flex/RIA projects; expected to be very “hands on”
Perform regular code/peer reviews
Provide semi-annual performance reviews of RIA developers to senior management.
Highlight key development issues and concerns, proactively filter and bubble up issues as necessary
Advise in the development of cross-browser compatible HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for e-commerce websites
Oversees the software integration between the company’s RIAs and third party systems.
Troubleshoot complex issues with existing systems
Participate in conference calls with clients and partners
Validate effort and timeline estimates given by subordinate RIA developers
Coordinate projects with other departments internally
Oversees maintenance and bug fixes
Job Specifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a computer related discipline or equivalent years of work experience.
Eight (8+) years relevant experience developing web applications, four (4+) of which should
include Flash and/or Flex applications, and at least two (2+) years managing the function.
Proven experience developing enterprise scale flash/flex applications and rich internet application architecture and development strategies.
Strong portfolio of complex, enterprise-class flash, flex, and RIA applications.
Strong command of OO design patterns and OO development in general and their
application in a flash/flex environment.
Some familiarity with a LAMP stack, comfort on Linux command line.
Strong command of Javascript, AJAX, and XML.
Demonstrated competence of flash/flex application SDLC including requirements gathering,
project estimation, development, revision control, deployment strategies, etc.
Knowledge of revision control processes and methods of coordinating efforts across the team.
Highly motivated, strong work ethic.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
