I just wanted to say thanks to the guys over at FlashForward for extending such an amazing offer to us. For those of you on the mailing list, you should have received an email today with a code for a $400 discount off the price of the conference (which is almost half off). If you are not on the mailing list, or didnt’ get this email for some reason, shoot me an email ( kyle@sdfug.org ) and I can forward it to you. I’m unfortunately not going to be able to attend this year, but it looks like it’s going to be a really great conference! Where else will you get the opportunity to see David Carson and Grant Skinner speaking at the same event? I’ve post some more information on the event page here: http://www.sdfug.org/san-diego-flash-users-group/events/flashforward-2008-2/
or you can find all the details at www.flashforwardconference.com

FlashForward is a really great conference with some really amazing speakers, including Grant Skinner, and David Carson (if you don’t know who these people are, you should probably punch yourself, then go immediately to google and find out)!
It sounds like it’s going to be a reall great conference. I haven’t personally attended FlashForward before, but I do know people that go EVERY year and can’t say enough good things about it. Worried about getting your boss to pay for the confernece? Never fear, the guys (and gals) putting the conference together have been kind enough to create a page that will help you justify the expense: . And if that’s still not enough, they have even offered a substantial discount to all SDFUG members! I still have to finalize all the details, but it sounds like we will be able to receive a $400 discount (that’s almost half off) just for being members of SDFUG and helping to support the community!
So what are you waiting for, head over to flashforwardconference.com , check out the speaker lineup, read about the amazing parties and film festival, then check back here for the discount code that will save you (or hopefully your boss) a bunch of money!
If you did not receive the email with the discount code for the conference, please email me at kyle@sdfug.org and I will forward you the information.

“MAX is an experience unlike any other — an opportunity to connect with thousands of designers, developers, partners, executives, and Adobe staff for education, inspiration, and community. MAX 2008/2009 will be held in San Francisco, Milan, and Tokyo. Be sure to mark your calendar for this important global event.”
For those of you that have never attended Max, this is a really great opportunity to connect with some of the best developer and designers in the world, expand your skillset, and have some serious fun! This will be my third year at Max, and I personally can’t wait. If anyone has any questions about the conference, what to expect, how to get your boss to sign off on the expense report, etc. feel free to drop me an email ( kyle@sdfug.org ). Hope to see you all there!

One of my favorite Flash conferences, FITC will be held in Toronto on April 20-22. I know it’s a bit of a distance for you San Diegans to travel, but if you’re interested in attending (and seeing yours truly present), FITC has given SDFUG a special discount code for 10% the price of a regular pass. The code is SDFUB03123. Use it when you buy your pass online. So, why not join me and your fellow Flash geeks in the Great White North, eh?
