July Meeting

June 23rd, 2008 Kyle

July 2, 2008
7:00 pmto9:00 pm

I would like to dedicate at least a portion of this meeting to discussing design patterns, and frameworks such as cairngorm and puremvc that make implementing some of the more common patterns a bit easier. So please feel free to bring along any books, websites, or any other information that you’ve found useful while learning about design patterns and we can all share our thoughts, experiences, ideas, etc. This topic has come up in past meetings and it seemed to be one that everyone was interested in, so I hope this will produce some good discussions and introduce all of us to some new ideas that will make our code better, our lives easier, and of course make us all rich and famous! =]

As always, if anyone has a specific topic they would like to speak on, please email me at kyle@sdfug.org.

When you arrive, there is a large open parking lot, feel free to park anywhere. I will be waiting for everyone down in the lobby at 6:50 and we will hang out and wait for the stragglers until around 7:10. The building is secured so I will need to be there to bring everyone upstairs to our offices. If you are running late, or find yourself stuck in the lobby, feel free to call my (Kyle) cell at 612.203.2825 and I’ll come down and let you in.

Nice design-y all Flex site…

March 6th, 2008 dwebb

Contact at RED sent me this one this morning – pretty cool functionality inside and all of it’s Flex.  It’s a little slow right now, but they haven’t opened it up to everyone yet (beta, beta, beta).  Great showcase of the technology.

Nice Papervision Example…

January 23rd, 2008 dwebb

From the guy that basically invented Papervision3D, Carlos Ulloa, and a nice intro for those of you who aren’t yet familiar with it or its potential. Play with the car and pay particular attention to things like scaling, perspective and 3 dimensional rotation of the car’s various surfaces. Pretty impressive stuff.
