I am sure you all have heard/read the announcement about about Adobe stopping development on the mobile plugin version of the Flash Player. I wanted to hilight a great blog post by Matt Legend Gemmell on Adobe’s Communication of this annoucement. Since we all carry the Flash banner to some degree, Adobe’s misstep on how they handled this news affects all of us. I don’t know how many emails I had to respond to today internally about this. Matt has done a great job in reframing it. Hopefully, this can help you navigate the questions and decisions that might be ahead of you. Lee Brimelow from Adobe, also has written some good post on the future of the Flash Platform. I would also take a moment to read Thibault Imbert’s thoughts (he is the Product Manager for the Adobe Flash Runtime) It seems almost everyone BUT Adobe PR does a better job in explaining the decision than them. As an aside: I heard the new late last night, while working on a mobile prototype that I could only do with the Flash Platform in the time allowed. What are your thoughts? Share them here or at the next meeting!
