The first official SDFUG meeting!

November 15th, 2007 Kyle

It’s official, we have a time, we have a place, now we just need you! Come one, come all, to the first official meeting of the San Diego Flash Users Group.

When: Wednesday, December 5th, 2007 from 7 - 9PM

Where: The Art Institute of California San Diego ( 7650 Mission Valley Road San Diego, CA ) MAP. We will be meeting in “The Palette” which is located on the second level of the Art Institute. When you arrive, park in the parking lot and enter through the main entrance, then let the security guard know that you are here for the Flash Users Group meeting and ask how to get to the palette (basically once you enter the building, simply go up the stairs to the second floor and the palette should be directly in front of you).

What to expect: We will have three presenters, each discussing a different topic. Then will open up the floor for general discussion and questions. This will be a great opportunity to share ideas, meet people with similar interests, and interact with other industry professionals. Please keep in mind that this is our first meeting, and we will still be trying to figure out what format works best for anyone. Feedback is always appreciated, so feel free to send us any thoughts or ideas as to what you would like to get from this group and from future meetings.

If you plan on attending: Please leave a comment to this post so we can get an idea of how many people to expect.

Sign up for our Google Group here.

We look forward to meeting you all!

-The SDFUG Team!

Colin Moock and the Adobe AS3 Tour!

October 1st, 2007 Kyle

Adobe has put together a tour featuring Colin Moock (http://www.moock.org) that will present Actionscript 3.0 (the new features, migration, OOP, etc.). For those of you that were able to attend the Adobe OnAir tour in Los Angeles recently, this sounds like it is going to be much the same, only related to Actionscript 3 as opposed to Air. You can find all the details on the official Adobe site at http://www.adobeas3tour.com/. The closest stop to San Diego is in NorthRidge (about 144 miles from SD), the info for that stop is listed below. If anyone wants to work on arranging some car-pools, feel free to contact any of us or we can discuss it at the next meeting. Also, it looks to be filling up quickly, so sign up soon!
