April Meeting – Designing User Interfaces for Flex Applications

Join us for our April 1st meeting at 6pm on “Designing User Interfaces for Flex Applications”. Dolores Joya Moore will be speaking on everything you need to know to make your next Flex application look its best. Some of the topics included:

  • Overview of possible Graphical Design workflows for Flex. (which path we will be covering)
  • Overview of the Photoshop to Flex Design Workflow
  • A Look under the hood at a Flex Component in Flex
  • Designing for Flex in Photoshop
  • Using the Flex Component Kit in Photoshop for Mock-ups
  • Designing a Custom Skin for a Flex button
  • Applying Custom Flex Skins to Flex Components in Flex Builder using CSS

About our speaker:

Dolores Joya Moore is an independent Flex UI Designer based in southern California. Since 1999, she has worked in-house and independently as a visual UI designer on several interactive Rich Internet Applications (RIA’s) where her jobs have included Product UI Designer, Senior Graphic Designer, and Flex Skin Designer among others. In her current role, Dolores designs Flex UI screens, designs interfaces for custom branded RIA’s, creates custom icons, creates MXML layouts and skins Flex components in Flex Builder 3.0. She brings a fresh look to emerging RIA’s and a passion for pioneering new methods in UI Design.

Meeting Information:

Our meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at Art Institute of San Diego’s South Building from 6 – 8 PM. Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting!
