Hungry for the Wii Remote…

For those of you that have been tinkering around with the Wii remote and/or Processing (Sean, thanks a LOT for getting me hip to Processing - makes it much harder to focus on AS3 :) ), and are using Vista, I’m sure you have run into the same roadblocks that I have regarding bluetooth drivers. The common solution for getting Windows (seems like only XP) seems to be using BlueSoleil’s bluetooth drivers to recognize the Wii remote and then using GlovePie to handle the input. Alas, BlueSoleil doesn’t work in Vista (doh!). Vista recognizes it fine on its own (without BlueSoleil), and even installs a driver for it, but seems to be worthless beyond that point.

As I’m pretty sure that we can all think of a thousand and one things to do with the remote in Flash, Flex, Processing…. (and on and on…), is anyone privy to a suitable workaround (besides WiinRemote and it’s bugginess)? I’ve had to resort to booting into Leopard (one of the benefits of having a dual-boot MacBook Pro) to run all of my experiments due to that little issue (and one other one having to do with Processing not digitizing video properly in Windows - I’ll rant about that elsewhere).
